Sugaring vs Waxing

Updated: Nov 10, 2018

Sugaring is an all natural paste made of sugar, lemon juice and water. There are no chemicals, strips or sticks used in the process. It is more eco friendly and much gentler on your skin. Pure cornstarch is sprinkled on the area prior to sugaring to reduce any moisture from the skin, then the sugar paste is applied against the growth of the hair and removed with the grain; waxing is the opposite which is why it is more harsh on the skin. The sugar paste is in a low temperature warmer which will never burn the skin. Sugar is water soluble and wont leave any weird residue that you'll need some magic oil to remove it with.

The benefits of sugaring are; hair grows back thinner and finer, skin is left feeling soft and silky not raw and irritated, less ingrown hairs than with waxing, no chance of burning the skin, way less waste used during the process. It will typically take 3-4 appointments to get all the hair in the same growth cycle so it is important to book your first few appointments every 4 or 6 weeks apart. Exfoliating a few times a week is highly recommended.
